Emma Willison never goes far without her camera - always keen to explore new ventures and to reflect upon the essence of life. Originally a Dorset girl who encountered an abundance of rich environments, she has also been influenced by her career as an occupational therapist. Both aspects focus her attention on the interaction between people and their surroundings.
Her career brought Emma to Sheffield in 2000 and she continues to be inspired by the juxtaposition of urban and rural life of the city and the Peak District. Emma utilises photography in different ways - as a means of escape, an expression of emotion and a way of capturing images which may otherwise become distorted memories. She takes an honest approach to a variety of subjects, searching for detail or unique perspectives, creating a mysterious allure to her work. The infinite possibilities of the future still energise her photographic ambition.
